The smarter way to win prizes

Win.ly is, quite simply, a tool that allows you to find and easily play games that have the best chance of winning prizes. At the same time, it protects you from wasting time (and risking leaking your personal information) on games that have such a small chance of winning they really aren't worth playing.

History

Win.ly was created by veterans of the online promotions industry (that is, the folks who actually build and run these games) and trained mathematicians. With the exploding growth of statistics available on the Internet, it became clear that all the elements were becoming available to get a really good estimate of any given player's chance of winning a given game. What needed to be done was to gather this information into a state of the art analytical database and present the results in an easily understood way on a website.

This was, needless to say, a very exciting idea and countless hours of work were put in to make it a reality. The results, roughly in the order they were built, were three main components:

The Seeker: The Seeker is a complex piece of software that automatically searches the Web for sites that are running sweepstakes, instant wins and contests, and stores its findings in a complex relational database.
The Rater: The Rater is where the brains are. It takes the results from The Seeker and analyzes dozens of statistics to estimate a chance of winning a prize for each sweepstakes, instant win and contest. Each day it then compiles a list of the top 100 games ranked in order of best chance of winning a prize.
Win.ly Website: The website is where it's all presented to you. Premium members immediately arrive at that day's list of the top 100 games, with the best one at the top. A carefully designed interface quickly indicates important information about each through icons and text. The management tool allows users to easily return to games they like, maximize their entries based on the rules and even track their wins.

How it works

Premium members are presented with a list of the top 100 promotions ranked by best chance of winning. For each game, an icon indicates a general category of odds.

Green indicates a decent chance of winning and worth playing.
Yellow are middle of the road, you can take or leave these depending on your level of interest in the prizes.
Red are a waste of time. Don't even bother to register unless you like the prize so much that don't mind the astronomical odds against you winning

The best of all are indicated by a green icon "on fire". These are the games that you have the best chances of winning a prize.

To best provide this information and allow our users to make the best use of it, we developed the Win.ly Management Tool interface. There are a lot of features included in this tool to allow users to most efficiently and effectively make use of the information to win prizes. These features include:

Ability to also view list weighted by dollar value*
Ability to see all your promotions in one dynamic window with real-time sorting and selecting*
For each game in your list, quickly view how many times you've played and the last time you've played
The Win.ly Toolbar appears at the top of each visited game, allowing you to view important information on the game and to quickly mark each as to whether you like, dislike or have won
View only games you like (or view all the games except for the ones you dislike)
Automatically maintain a master list of games you have won, so you can make sure your prizes arrive
For each game, quickly view a summary of the overall Win.ly community's like or dislike of the game.
